She entered the river and came out with a golden axe. She asked the woodcutter if it was his axe. The woodcutter responded negatively. Then she reappeared with a silver axe after going under the water once more. 

The woodcutter declined to accept it this time as well. At last she retrieved the axe of the woodcutter from the water. The woodcutter was happy to get his iron axe back. The fairy was very happy to see the woodcutter’s honesty and gave her two more valuable axes as a reward.

Moral: It is always beneficial to avoid lust and follow the path of truth.

There was a woodcutter in a village. He was cutting wood by the river one day. His axe abruptly dropped into the water. But the river was very deep. However, the woodcutter lacked diving and swimming skills. So he sat there sadly. Then a strange thing happened. Then a beautiful fairy appeared in front of the woodcutter. The fairy said to him, “Why are you crying?” He told the fairy the story. The fairy took pity on him.

Then she went down into the water and came back with a golden axe. The woodcutter asked him, “Is this yours? The person replied, “No.” The fairy returned with a silver axe after plunging into the river once more. According to the woodcutter, “It is not mine either.” At last, the fairy delivered  the real axe. 

Then the woodcutter became very happy and pleased after seeing it. The fairy was also very pleased with the woodcutter for his honesty. Therefore, the fairy gave him a golden and a silver axe as a reward.

Moral: Truthfulness ultimately brings happiness and success.

A woodcutter was chopping wood beside the river in the forest one day. Suddenly his axe fell into the river. It was a deep river. The woodcutter could neither swim nor dive. He thus sat there in sorrow. Due to his extreme poverty, he was unable to purchase a new axe. He was wondering what to do. 

He was very depressed and was planning his fate. Suddenly a wonderful thing happened. A fairy appeared in front of him, and he heard a voice. The fairy asked him why he was sad. He told her everything. The fairy felt sorry for him. After visiting the river, she brought back a golden axe. If it was his axe, she inquired of the woodcutter.

The woodcutter answered in the negative. The woodcutter’s honesty and perseverance were successful. The incident spread throughout the village and everyone praised his honesty. He was regarded as a wise guy, and people started to ask him for help.
