The admission shifts and number of seats for different categories in the government TSC must follow the instructions of the Directorate of Technical Education.

Pre Vocational Admission Circular 

The circular for admission of students in government technical schools and colleges, private independent and affiliated educational institutions and affiliated madrasas in the 2025 academic year under the pre-vocational curriculum affiliated to the Bangladesh Technical Education Board has been published.

In order to expand technical and vocational education and training, a decision was taken to include a technical subject in the pre-vocational curriculum in every government technical school and college along with general education.

Eligibility for Pre Vocational Admission

For Class 6: Students who have passed the Primary Education Completion/Ebtedayi Education Completion/equivalent examination from any approved school/Madrasa will be eligible for admission to 6th class of Pre-Vocational Education;

For admission to 6th class, the age of the student should be 10-13 years as on 31-12-2024 AD. However, the upper age limit is relaxable in the case of 2nd shift of government institutions and private institutions;

For Class 7 & 8: Students who have passed the Primary Education Completion/Ebtedayi Education Completion/equivalent examination from any approved school/Madrasa and have passed the 6th and 7th classes of general and Madrasa education stream will be able to apply for admission respectively in the vacant seats of Pre-Vocational Education. If such students get the opportunity to get admission, they will complete the learning deficit of the work-oriented engineering education curriculum through makeup classes.

Pre Vocational Admission Application Procedure:

  1. The admission application form can be found in the office of the concerned educational institution, can be downloaded from the website of the Directorate of Technical Education/Bangladesh Technical Education Board/concerned institution;
  2. The notification should clearly mention the date and time for distribution and submission of the admission application form. However, a minimum of 14 working days should be given for distribution of the application form;
  3. 04 copies of passport size photographs of the examinee should be pasted and attached in the specified place in the application form;
  4. While submitting the application form, the lower part of the form should be given to the student with the serial number, the copy with the said serial number will be considered as the lottery copy and the upper part should be preserved in the concerned educational institution for at least three years.

Admission Process

To conduct Pre-Vocational admission activities, an admission committee of 07 (seven) members with the head of the institution as the chairman and the head of the department/senior teachers will be formed.

  • The admission activities for classes 6-8 will be held through lottery. The members of the admission committee will conduct the lottery activities in front of the parents present. Transparency should be ensured in the lottery activities.
  • In addition to preparing the list of students selected through lottery, a waiting list with an equal number of vacant seats should also be prepared. If the selected students are not admitted on the date determined by the admission committee, admission arrangements should be made from the waiting list in order;
  • Each educational institution will conduct the admission activities under its own management. The admission activities should be completed smoothly and transparently. The educational institution authorities may form one or more subcommittees to conduct the admission activities;
  • As per the decision of the admission committee, the heads of institutions will publish admission notices mentioning the number of vacant seats in their respective institutions.
  • In addition, the admission committee will take measures for widespread publicity by publishing notices in national/local newspapers, print and electronic media/websites, etc.
