The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam uses the grade scheme you see above. A GPA of 5.00 is equivalent to 80–100 marks, which is the equivalent of an A+ grade under this SSC grading scheme.
The range of 70 to 79 is then regarded as an A grade, or the GPA of 4.00. In a similar vein, an A-grade, worth 3.50 points, is awarded if you receive 60 to 69 marks on the SSC exam.
A student who scores between 50 and 59 on the SSC exam is awarded a B grade with a 3.00 GPA. A GPA of 2.50 is equivalent to a C grade, which is earned if you receive 40–49 points.
