One day, a wolf was eating very greedily. Due to excessive greed, he ate in a hurry and a bone got stuck in his throat. The wolf started writhing in pain, but he could not get the bone out.
The wolf looked around for help, but no one wanted to help him. Finally, he saw a crane and begged, “Please take the bone out of my throat. I will give you a good reward.”
The crane was scared at first, but agreed to the wolf’s promise. He spread his long beak and took the bone out of the wolf’s throat.
When the wolf’s pain subsided, the crane reminded him of the reward. But the wolf smiled and said, “You survived even after putting your head in my mouth, this is your biggest reward!”
